Pop A Gander - A post-rock experiment with a driving beat

This song is a simple repeating i-iv-i-v pattern that never changes. The parts are mostly from what would be probably be considered a rock vocabulary, but they’re treated like samples and are put together in a way that is maybe more reminiscent of how EDM songs are usually constructed. I did this deliberately to see if I could make something that stays interesting to listen to through the use of layers and textures, as opposed to structural complexity. I’ll let you decide if I succeeded.

Recorded and mixed on Ubuntu Studio with Ardour 6.9. Electric guitars and bass through Guitarix. Drums by DrumGizmo. Horns are free VSCO Trumpet and Trombone plugins for Windows via yabridge. Strings from a free sfz library called Virtual Playing Orchestra.
