Plugins don't take effect?

Hi I am running 9.8…

Having not recorded for while, 6-8 month or so, I noted when inserting a plugin for a specific track it does not work.

In my case I was trying to insert reverb and/or EQ .

It does not work with a variety suppliers . That is before or after fader.

I can adjust the parameters but without effect.

any idea … would be much appreciated

Do plugins on other tracks in the same session work?

Is the plugin on the specific track active; i.e. does it have a bright green indicator when you look at it in either the mixer or editor window?
