Hello,
Currently using Ardour 8.4, the plugin window is closed when clicking on another aoo i.e. the plugin window is only visible when Ardour is the running app. IS there a parameter to prevent this behaviour and ensure that the plugin window is always visible?
Thank you

What OS do you use?
Are you using Ardour on macOS? If so, then no. Apple hides dialog/popup windows when switching context to another app.
Are you using Ardour on Linux? This depends on how your Desktop’s Window Manager handles this. Some have settings for that…
oh… this behaviour would be at Gnome level? (yes, Linux). I will check and confirm if this can be changed.

Maybe https://superuser.com/questions/394376/how-to-prevent-gnome-shells-alttab-from-grouping-windows-from-similar-apps
other keywords to search for “transient parent window ”.
Here on Debian GNU/Linux with mate-desktop plugin widows remain visible. I didn’t know that gnome behaves differently.
