I made a new installation of Arch and when I load a session with avldrums, Ardour loads a placeholder. Avldrums is installed and the plugin manager sees them. The plugin was installed from the arch repo. The uri’s are the same and I also tried replacing the files in lib/lv2/avldrums with the ones from the install that I made the session in. It’s a new install of Arch so maybe I’m missing something. Ardour is 8.12 from the official binary.
Robin also provides binaries at his site, they are what I use, maybe try them?

Have you restarted Ardour after installing the plugin?
Does lv2ls | grep avldrums list the plugin?
Does it work in a new session?
I’ll have to try later to load it in a new session. The plugin manager and lv2ls | grep avldrums lists them.
So I needed to downgrade libinstpatch to 1.1.6-1. This was talked about here https://discourse.ardour.org/t/calf-lv2-plugins-not-found-by-ardour-7-3-after-system-update/108500?u=craigpid a couple of years ago. I had libinstpatch in the ignore section of pacman.conf in my other Arch installation.
