Organizing my files in another project?

I m always getting in trouble on longer projects with organizing my material I import into ardour for editing. for example i work on a film score and import audio for a scene, edit it, and then maybe 3 scenes later, I would like to re use the material and find the bits and pieces and paste it into the new scene… or i have very long takes of music i want to edit into little pieces in the project and then spread it over different places in the project. The regions section is pretty much unreadable and handable for me. so i thought and here comes the question: Is it possible to run two ardour sessions at the same time, and copy regions from one to the other?

then i could organize and edit material in one session and assemble in another… thanks for input and other ideas!

… 7 years later… O___o

Out of curiosity, I’m going through posts on the forum that have/had 0 replies. Most I won’t reply to. But for your question I actually have a satisfactory answer, if you even care or are still around…

This:

Yes, this is now possible for stereo and mono audio regions at least.
Here’s my post about it (July, 2025):

~Just FYI. :grimacing: :+1:
