Open source plugin for a "wah" effect?

I have a guitar track that I want to add a sort of wah pedal sound to in post. Are there any open source plugins for this or that just so happen to be able to create this sort of effect?

Chris from Airwindows creates hundreds of interesting plugins.
I literally searched for “airwindows wah effect” in duckduckgo and that came up, haha.

Hopefully it’s acceptable enough. (I haven’t tried it.)

Oh damn, I have Airwindows Consolidated and I didn’t even check hahaha.
I should install all the plugins individually. Having them all in one makes it hard to search and be aware of what I have.

If you’re not totally opposed to non-free(dom) software though (-respect if you are :grin:), some of these might interest you, which are ‘free’ as in gratis; here’s “Automatic Wahwah” for example:

-Probably some open/free(dom) ones on that site though…
(I think they should have a search filter for this though, imo.)

So according to the website I should find this under the “Filter” section, but Wah isn’t anywhere inside Airwindows Consolidated. Does your copy have it or do you have the Lv2 individually?

I don’t think I have downloaded Airwindows Consolidated, but I might be wrong on that…

Regardless, I just clicked the word “Wah” at that link, and it automatically downloaded a tiny .dmg file for my macOS setup. I then moved the .component file (AU plugin) to my appropriate Components plugin folder, then had Ardour discover it via its Plugin Manager.

For you (assuming you’re using GNU/Linux), I’d be interested to know if his website automatically gives you whatever format you need instead. (…Because honestly maybe it’s just a .dmg (i.e. Mac-only) file/plugin… If so, sorry to waste your time! :grimacing: :woozy_face:)

There are also some wahs in the guitarix-lv2 package on Debian. And there is a GitHub repo with LV2 ports of Rakarrack effects that has some wahs: GitHub - ssj71/rkrlv2: Rakarrack Effects Ported to LV2 Plugins
