Notes gone from tracks

There’s no help category I can see in the drop down, but I made a couple of tracks on Ardour for Linux version 5.12.0. I saved, and closed Ardour.

I’ve reopened and loaded my project, but the notes are missing from the tracks.

the notes are missing visually, but play. I do, however, have to resetup the sound fonts every time I restart Ardour on every track. Am I missing some secret to get this all to just load up with the project each time?
