No Harrison XT & ACE plugins GUI on ARM64?

Hi,

I’m investigating a DAW setup on an ARM64 system and I’ve seen through several installs that Harrison XT and ACE plugins are not offered during the installation process.
I’ve tried both apt installation and Demo ready-to-run program.

Here’s an example of output from an x86_64 computer and arm64 one (notice the absence of the plugin install question on ARM64):

Welcome to the Ardour installer

Ardour will be installed for user in /opt

Architecture is x86_64
Checking for required disk space
Bundle is on ext4 filesystem
Unpacking bundle for x86_64
Bundle unpacked

Checking system libs to see if they are compatible with Ardour.

Installing Ardour 7.5.0 in /opt

Adding Ardour to the applications menu

Creating a desktop link for Ardour in /home//Desktop
cp: cannot create regular file ‘/home//Desktop/Ardour_7.5.0_demo.desktop’: No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access ‘/home//Desktop/Ardour_7.5.0_demo.desktop’: No such file or directory

Copying uninstall script to /opt

Creating link Ardour7 in /usr/local/bin

Does Harrison and ACE plugins are available only on x86 platforms ?
Thank you

I’ll let Harrison answer the question about their plugins.

The ACE plugins are offered on all platforms we build for, and they do not provide GUIs (they rely on the plugin host to build a “generic” GUI for them). The GUIs provided by Harrison for those same ACE plugins are not currently available for ARM.

Thank you for you speed of light reply !
You made an excellent point on mentioning the difference between the plugins and their GUI availability, I actually updated the topic title to reflect that.

So, in a nutshell, Harrison does provide plugins for ARM64, but, the Harrison GUI for the ACE plugins will not work on ARM64 system.

I’ll then go to a x86_64 based platform tho.

Thank you again for your time and help !
