Newly trying Ardour, Ubuntu 24lts, need help with video please

Hi. I’ve opened an ffmpeg into a session , i can hear the audio but there is only a video track and no audio tracks/

I’ve read your page about issues with ffmpeg and seen the script you can run after making the directory required, to install the ffmpeg utilities. I’m wondering if my problem is to do with that (even though my video is one i made with blender and rendered to ffmpeg)? I’m very happy to install as directed on your page , but concerned to know whether installing ffmpeg again on my laptop with cause conflict with the existing ffmpeg i already have and blender uses.

if that’s not the thing i need to do Is there alternatively another solution to my issue please? thank you

Here is the manual page about ffmpeg The Ardour Manual - Video Timeline Setup

if you can hear sound, then there must be an audio track.

Can you perhaps post a screenshot of the editor and mixer windows? That may shed some light.

here is a screenshot
you can see the video, the sound for it is playing through the master out below but there is no waveform. And there is no separate video audio track?

Apologies. I found the audio track underneath all my other tracks, at the bottom. I wasn’t expecting it would be put anywhere else but directly below the video.

Thanks very much for answering and helping so quickly.
