Greetings! I am glad to meet you. I publish music on the net. I use the pseudums “cyberchambermusic” and “ivan sokolnikov”. Check iTunes, SoundCloud, cdbaby, etc. Also YouTube. I use cubase 8.5 and Logic Pro x. I have also used pro tools and cakewalk and all the others. I am learning ardour and I have 10 simple beginner questions. 1/10: How does one use Mach 5, Kontakt 5 and Halion 5 with ardor? 2/10: How does one edit controllers like velocity, volume, pan? If I violate forum rules, it may just be old age - 79. If I am fined by admin it makes no difference whether I yield my net worth or one million dollars because my net worth is exactly $1,000,000.

It appears you are trying to install the Linux version of Ardour on OS X, which will not work. You need to install the OS X version.
I followed the instructions at https://ardour.org/first_time_linux.html but still cannot install Ardour.
Mac OS X El Capitan
…and I quietly melt into the scenery with embarrassment hoping no one notices.
Oh… wait! I bought in at the $50 level and when I go to https://community.ardour.org/download_revisit and enter my PayPal invoice ID I do not get to choose what platform. It just serves up Ardour-5.8.0-x86_64.run
Sorry, nevermind. I found the correct .dmg for Mac.
