I boomed and recorded with a :
Sound Devices 744T Portable Audio Recorder
The high-resolution 744T audio recorder is the next generation recorder replacing digital and analog tape-based portable recorders with far more powerful file-based digital recording devices. The four-track 744T writes and plays audio files with either 16 or 24-bit depth at all professional sample rates, up to 192 kHz.
Then brought everything into Ardour 3. Some editing was done in Audacity mainly noise removal. (It has an awesome plugin for this!) I assembled and mixed all of this in Ardour 3 using a couple of linuxdsp plugins and plugins installed from Ubuntu repo. Video was played back in sync using xjadeo.
Using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit for OS. Stock kernel.
