Name of bottom section and is there a shortcut toggle

1.) I have been referring to it as a “Bottom Dock” but has there been an official name given to the new bottom section available in version 9?

(Once I know the name I probably will be able to find this but will mention just in case)
2.) Also, is there a default keyboard shortcut to toggle on/off?
CTRL+E = toggle left sidebar
CTRL+L = toggle right sidebar
? = toggle bottom dock / bottom bar
and or at least an empty slot in Keyboard Shortcuts dialog for user to assign a shortcut?
If not I can put in a request that this be added.

Can you send a screenshot of this “Bottom Dock”?

  1. It’s called “Properties Panel” since it shows properties of the selected item.
  • Region properties: start, position, duration, content (MIDI/Audio), Region FX
  • Track/Bus properties: plugins
  • Slot/Cue/Trigger settings

etc.

2). See Menu > View > Show Editor Properties Box
(the currently configured shortcut is shown there in the menu, and it also applies to the Cue Page).

Ahh thank you Robin
In my Mantis posts I have to keep calling it Bottom Dock because I cannot edit my posts, but good to know the proper name.
Also good to hear that there is a shortcut for this, that explains why I could not find it.

No worries and thanks for all the good suggestions.

Many of the reports I’ve seen from you there are feature requests or details that likely won’t warrant delaying the 9.0 release (which is in feature freeze). but we’ll get to those shortly after 9.0 is out.

Oh wow, thank you for saying that Robin, I really appreciate it.
No I understand, there has to be a limit somewhere in order to achieve a release, but nice to hear that some suggestions made might be added in the future.

I do have some bug reports that I have/will be making that might be worth keeping an eye out for before the new release but obviously up to you guys.
I just tried to make a few just now on Mantis but instead had to just make a couple because I was limited to 2 posts this time! :slight_smile:
