My First Compile :-)))

I can VERY happily report that I was finally successful in getting Ardour 2.8.4 to compile and run on my 64Studio machine! I compiled with support for my Tranzport and LV2. I’m geeked, as this is the most difficult compile I’ve ever tried, and I learned a LOT along the way! YES!!!

Some things I figured out:

Installed a bunch of dependencies
Downloaded from Subversion instead of directly from ardour.org
Figured out the Scons command line syntax

I know this is pretty mundane and old hat to most of you guys, but this was a big step for me, and I want to share it with someone! (My wife just sorta looks at me like “yeah - big deal”.

Well done! Nice sense of achievement. Can’t tell you how many of those looks I’ve had from my wife over the years…
