Hey there,
one thing I love in Reaper is the possibility to set the middle mouse button to marquee zoom (click and drag) and single click to reset. (in Logic its “Ctrl + Alt + Left Mouse drag”)
I know there are “Z” and “F” and “Shift + Z” for zooming.
Is there already a function how to do this with mouse? If not: Wouldn’t it be great to have this iside Ardour?
Ardour 3 could do this with an explicit mouse mode. We removed it because it is redundant: in range mode (or in smart mode, in the upper half of a track) select the area you want to zoom too and then press “Z”. We have no plans to bring back zoom mouse mode.
