How to configure Ardour in OSX for successfuly monitoring during recording a track?
It depends on what your hardware is capable of. Generally though, in the Options dialog, you can set it to use hardware and/or software monitoring. I’d play with those until you find the settings you’re looking for.
ive found by default that the mac port does not have monitoring sound while recording… and im not quite sure how to get this enabled.
concidering we are all using macs we should all have the same settings, regardless of sound card hardware!
hardware monitoring is probably the angle i would use at this point, but if you have enough RAM, over 1gb, then software would probably be just as good if not better, depnding on the hardware you have!
