Really Good, You guys are tight! Ever tried a Line6 Pod for guitars? Sometimes when I can’t get the mic’d sound I want I use a Pod, they don’t cost a whole lot more than a couple of SM57’s. Just a thought. I’m not much of a metal guitar expert, just a thought.
I’m in another band that uses a line6 pod… I like it for the sake of ease. But I’m no professional studio, so if it ain’t drum equipment, I ain’t buying it!!! I think the guitarists should be responsible for that stuff (hahahah)! At the same time, some online articles seem to imply that you can’t capture the true sound/crunch without mic’ing. So, I guess that whole subject is subjective! Thanks for the props! As far as “tight,” live performances are a different story!
UPDATE: I found a dude on eBay selling 15 Shure SM57 mics (NIB) for $49 ea. w/ free shipping. So, I bought one! There’s another ebay dealer selling a mic stand, a 15’ XLR cable, and the SM57 mic for $112, which seems like a good deal too (for any interested buyers out there).

I’ve been experimenting with panning/mic placement and have a new recording available (version 2 of the same song). While it sounds more full and more “stereo,” the guitars will need to be re-recorded. I’m still not satisfied!!!

Is there any way you could provide a few screenshots of your mixer for the drums and guitars? It would be so helpful to understand what the panning looks like and what plugins your using. The idea is not to copy everything and hope it does magic for me.
