Missing audioports after windows update

Hey everyone,

i just upgraded my workstation from win10 to win11. I opened a session i did just some days ago in win10, some tracks routed to busses. Loaded, played but no sound. Log says missing audioports (midiports as well).

When i route the tracks directly to the master then i get sound but as soon as there are busses involved, no sound.

Anyone else experienced that behaviour?

I have another machine that already had w11 installed. There w10 sessions load without this issue.

With such a massive intervention in the operating system, I consider a reinstall of my tools more than appropriate!

I have been debugging something very similar (-maybe related, maybe not) for the past 2+ days now, and I am still completely dumbfounded by what the hell is happening:

:point_up_2:That quote is something I could have written though. I experience exactly that. Anything routed directly to the master bus is ā€˜safe and sound’. … But, in my case, any routing that involves tracks/buses with new name changes simply fail to save properly, and thus when you open the session later on, the routing is simply gone / fails to load.

This is infuriating and impossible to work with.

So I will be spending all day today trying to debug what is going-on…
If I discover anything that might have any relevance to you, I’ll let you know.

(And again, maybe your situation is fundamentally unrelated to mine. So if so, sorry for this post. They just sound like potential cousins of one another.)

-Cheers!

I’d definitely take guth’s advice and as a starting point, at least make sure your sound drivers are the correct ones for Win11.
