When the MIDI region is renamed by selecting the region in the Editor List, using a right-click , rename. The region disappears from the Editor List. If the region is then split, the names will reappear. When renaming the children of the split, they do not disappear and function as they should. This glitch does not affect audio regions.
I read that Ardour 8.3 is going to be released in a few days. I know you may not be working on bugs, but this might be an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing. This glitch affect Linux, Windows, and Mixbus latest linux and windows. I tested on Win10, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Manjaro(latest), and AV Linux.
It is annoying when trying to create Cue Clips within Ardour to be used in the Cue Tracks.
