I’ve just started using Ardour, but I’m getting the following message when trying to record a single midi track using a General Midi soundfont:
"The disk system on your computer
was not able to keep up with Ardour.
Specifically, it failed to write data to disk
quickly enough to keep up with recording."
I’ve noticed that this issue has been raised before, over the years, but I haven’t seen an answer to the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?
One of the previous problems like that was only on playback, because the region indicated audio past the actual end of the file. That specific problem cannot occur while recording.
Are you aware of another problem which occurred during recording, or was that playback problem the one you were remembering?
Hi - thanks for your reply - oddly, the problem (for now) has gone away. There might be an issue with AV Linux, which I’ve also only just started using, because earlier today, AV Linux wouldn’t boot, though after a hard reset, it booted OK. when I loaded up Ardour, all was well, so it might not be an Ardour issue?
