I have no idea if this is a bug or if I just need to configure something to fix this issue but it’s been driving me nuts, so I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the issue.
For some reason, my Midi tracks in all of my projects will sustain a note or too seemingly randomly.
When this happens I usually stop the track and hit play again from the starting position and there’s maybe a 3/4 chance it’ll play normally without sustaining the note. Weirder still, it seems to happen way more often when recording audio from these midi tracks.
On this one project I’m working on you can clearly see (in the video linked below) that the playback is normal and staccato when it’s just playing but when I arm it for recording the fourth note holds out for no obvious reason? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84v3KsOY5wc
Are my MIDI settings wrong? Is this a bug or a feature? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just thought I would mention that this is one of the few issues I have experienced with Ardour 4 (on Ubuntu Studio 14.04) so far. I’ve been using it for the past month and a half or so, and this random sustaining of MIDI notes during playback has happened to me alot as well. As far as I can remember, it happens when using the Calf Fluidsynth using SF2 files, and only when Auto Input is active. Haven’t experienced it when recording/bouncing the MIDI tracks to an audio track. Seems it is not an isolated user’s experience, in other words.
Hey guys! Just had a chance to try out the new release and MIDI is now working beautifully for me so far. 4.1.0 seems to have smoothed everything out.
Thanks a lot!
