Midi note copy - control-lef-click doesn't work as it does for regions etc

Hi,
As a long time Logic user (since 1994!), I’ve got used to control-clicking on midi notes to copy them, but that doesn’t work in Ardour, just moves the notes.

So, control-C, control-V is the only option - don’t like control-C in Linux!

Is there a really good reason for this? Is there a better workflow that I’m missing when copying midi notes?
