I would love to see a MIDI-Editing menu in ardour, where we could map values of our choice to the cc values of potentiometers and faders.
So let’s say i do want to change the delaytime of a delayplugin from 10ms to 30ms when i turn up a fader from 0 to 127.
This seems essential for live performance to me as most controllable parameters are covering a big value difference and only being able to use the max values of every parameter is almost useless in my opinion.
Another MIDI-mapping idea would be an addition to the “show automation on touch”.
I would like to see the functionality to always have the last touched automation instantly mapped to a specific fader or pot. So if i have a midicontroller with a free potentiometer connected, i could always use this instantly to write automations. No need to map it first.
you can map faders and potentiometers under midi devices and if you enter generic midi devices you can customize your midi binding to these.
Plugins are a bit different in terms of midi bindings from my understanding but you can use inline controls and use midi learn. i did see a lua script to automate inline controls for plugins i believe.
I setup my midi devices withh different ccs assigned to plugins and by channel with a bit of experimentation.
Not sure if i made myself clear here. I know about the midi learn function. I would like to have the possibility to edit the range in which a controller changes values.
I just invested into a faderfox controller in order to be able to limit the ouput of potentiometers and faders to midi values of my choice.
