MIDI Drums tracks for Ardour ?!

Hi everyone,
I love to have a nice drum track loaded in Ardour so I can record (e.g.) guitar on top of the drums. I am using the AVL Drumkits plugin.
However I am not good at programming drum patterns in MIDI, and i end up always using the same drum track…
Is there any place where I could download drum loops/pattern (or drum tracks for songs) that I could easily import (and modify) into Ardour ?

If you are using Ardour download from Ardour.org, have you tried the MIDI beats in the Ardour clips section located in the editor list or CUE page?

I do not know if the distro Ardour packages contain the midi beats and chord progressions.

For my project LogicalArdour, in addition to the drum patterns that come with subscription version of Ardour, there are also some other cool drum patterns you can use as well:

When programming drums, I usually start with loops from Groove Monkee and edit them as needed. While not free, they are great quality and the GM mappings work fine with the likes of AVL Drums and Drumgizmo.

Just to be clear, Ardour comes with all the loops from Groove Monkee (at least, as far as I know).

Aw man I had no idea :laughing: and there’s me coughing up good money for some Groove Monkey MIDI loops like a proper fool…!

Never a bad idea to financially support the creator for their work though honestly. (Presuming that is what you are doing when you purchase them and not just someone else grabbed the work and put it up for sale).
