Ardour appears to broadcast on all eight of my available midi channels when my project loads, however when I change the output channel to w then back to one it works as expected. I am using an emagic ant 8. Has anyone else encountered this?
Could be a MIDI panic message, Ardour re-initialize synths on connected ports when a session is loaded.
Do you also see activity on all 8 ports at transport-stop? Ardour does send a MIDI panic then.
No the AMT8 only shows activity on the channel I have selected. it seems really odd that changing the output channel fixes it. I Will report further as I investigate
Generally speaking I am hugley impressed with Ardour , if I can get thiis sorted it will be better in many respects than Cubase .
