Merge Midi Regions

I want to merge two midi regions that were recorded in different tracks into one region. The regions lie on top of each other in time.

Specifically: I have recorded a midi base drum and a midi snare in different tracks and now want to merge them into one region in one track.

What is the most clever way to do this?

Utterly disclaiming cleverness, but… Create a new MIDI track (e.g., “Drums”), and use the “Routing Grid” on its inputs to point to all your individually-programmed drum lines. Arm the new track for “Recording”, hit the global “Record” button, and then “Play”.

Finally, deactivate the separately-programmed tracks, route the MIDI output from the new “Drums” track to the same instrument, and PROFIT!
