Hi. Which is best setting for the master meter. Default setting was K20/RMS. Would RMS + Peak be better for getting a correct level. Forgive my ignorance.
I’d stay with one of the K-meters. As opposed to the custom peak+rms meter they have standardized alignment, deflection and falloff, so learning how to read that will be more useful.

PS. When exporting the final result, Ardour normalizes by default, digital peak-meter is not really relevant, except that it can be useful to indicate the crest-factor (Peak above RMS is a crude indicator of dynamic-range).
