I’ve been using version 6 for a few months now and ran into a problem this weekend.
When I export a project, the master bus has no effect on the resulting volume. I have multiple exports that I need to have similar volume levels. Trying to reduce the overall volume using the master bus has no effect, but turning down individual tracks works fine. This seems …wrong.
What am I missing?
Did you choose an export format that has normalisation enabled perhaps? https://manual.ardour.org/exporting/edit-export-format-profile/

Even though I have been recording for many years, I have always been the artist and not the primary engineer.
The hands on experience I do have came from 24 track Otari machines and the like!
I guess I need to google normalization.
