Massive warning in log console

Hi,
I’m wondering why I find massive warning in log console (such as 2 GB in two days after cleaning the log file)

The message is:

Ardour-Ardour_8.12.0.desktop[3139]: warning: patch:Set for unknown property

Ardour 8.12.0 installed on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Sounds like you are using a buggy LV2 plugin. Some use properties (as opposed to control ports) and the plugin(s) in question does not define then in the .ttl meta-data file.

Thanks for the heads up though, optimized Ardour builds should not print that message.

should I investigate on such LV2 plugin?
In Ardour-log I find:

is it something related?
thanks @x42

No. that’s unrelated to the issue at hand.

Those plugins have CV (Control Voltage) Ports (modular synth related). They are well defined, but Ardour does not support CV.

FYI,
maybe I have found the culprit: I deleted vex.lv2, which gave me error in the plugin manager, and the warnings no longer appear in journalctl or dmesg.
Thanks

Sad to say but unfortunately I’m having the same problems with the suite

LSP Plugin: Installed version: 1.2.24

on my system I can reproduce the problem this way:

I open an existing project →
I insert on an audio track (mono in my case being a bassline) LSP Graphic Equalizer x16 mono LV2
or, on a stereo track, LSP Parametric Equalizer x16 stereo (LV2) →
I play the track →

I launch on the terminal
sudo journalctl | grep "Ardour"

and I get a lot of lines with the warning
Ardour-Ardour_8.12.0.desktop[30226]: warning: patch:Set for unknown property

if I delete the plugin the warning no longer appears

please note: on the same project I also have active:

  • X42 instrument tuner
  • bass amp by airwindows (VST)
  • bass drive by airwindows (VST)
  • set be free DSP (LV2)
  • zynaddsubFX (LV2)
  • guitar chorus by airwindows (VST)
  • Midi chord, midi Strum and many others that do not cause problems

I don’t rule out the possibility that it is a problem with my configuration, so if someone can kindly try to reproduce the problem I would be grateful

as always, thanks

I believe that is a known problem corrected in 1.2.25.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of that, I’ll update

Hey @ccaudle , your suggestion solved the issue.

I really appreciate
