M4a import not possible

I would like to import a .m4a file into Ardor.
Unfortunately, I realize that this is not possible. What can I do?

I tried this, unfortunately with no result.

Which version of Ardour is this, and is it the official binary?

Since version 7.0 Ardour directly supports m4a file import (via ffmpeg).

I Just double checked. it works here (GNU/Linux, Ardour 8.2). Session > Import shows and can import .m4a files.

How does it fail? Can you select .m4a files in the Import dialog? Is there anything in Window > Log ?
