i have recently purchased a mobilepre usb interface.
in the sound settings menu in ubuntu the device show up and i can record with it using the built in sound recorder.
however when i laucnh qjackctl the device doesnt show up in the connections window and i cannot select it from the list of inputs in ardour. i have a little experience with ubuntu but not so much ardour.

Open qjackctl’s setup window and make sure jack uses the mobilepre (see drop-down menu on the right of the interface field).
Make sure that snd-usb-audio module is loaded for the sound devices.
you can check it by typing in a terminal window
lsmod | grep snd
if it’s listed then it should be fine.
