LSP IR - File not recognized after restarting

Yes, that is a Wayland compositor, although not nearly as common as the compositors which are default for Gnome and KDE. It looks like the project is only about 3 years old, so you will just have to find someone in that community who might be able to help debug the XWayland problems.

Some programs use native Wayland graphic API, so you need to distinguish between native Wayland apps and apps which still rely on X.

Can confirm, in my case each time i load the project in ardour, lsp’s impulse response plugin says “unknown error”, and i need to manually browse to the impulse file on disk. I was actually going to submit a bug report about this.

Could you provide more information?

  • Which version of lsp LV2 plugins are you using?
  • Which version Ardour you are using, and where did you get Ardour from? - If this is a distro build or self-compiled Ardour, the version of liblilv on your system will be relevant.

Update - I uninstalled GDM, and everything is completely back to normal. I opened Ardour with the Church practice project, and it loaded everything up just fine.

So all my issues with Ardour are definitely fixed. Once again, I appreciate everyone’s help here!

Just updated lsp-plugins to version 1.2.23, ardour is 8.12.0 prebuilt x86_64 from ardour.org, running on Linux Mint 22. The lsp-impulse-response window says “unsupported format” when reloading a project with lsp-impulse-response in carla. Forgot to mention in my previous post, loading lsp-impulse-response directly in ardour works fine, but the problem happens with ardour->carla->lsp-impulse-response.

…which reminds me, if i compile version 9 from git repo, i get garbled and barely recognizable sound and several xruns per second, even a non-debug build (–optimize?) …any idea?

Having the same issue when loading a Carla rack that contains LSP Impulse Response plugin. Loading LSP IR directly in Ardour works fine though.
