Looping MIDI track causes scratching noise on first beat

Hi, I import MIDI drum loops into Ardour 6.9 linux and when I loop the track there is a scratching noise on the first beat. There is no noise if I duplicate the track instead. I also tried this in Ardour 4 and everything is fine there, no noise. Any idea?

Which MIDI synth do you use, and which setting in Preferences > Transport > Loop Fades?

Well, I just tried to reproduce the problem and it worked fine this time.

I then quit and relaunched Ardour and imported the MIDI file back and now
the same problem reappears.

I use General MIDI synth and the transport mode is like this (French
version)

While I have you, do you know why when I import a MIDI loop, I have to
stretch it to the end of the measure for the loop to work? Here’s how it
looks when I import the loop.

This may help:

I closed the file with the noisy loop, then loaded a recorded song, played
it a bit, then closed it and re-imported the drum loop and now there is no
noise.
