Hello,
does somebody know of good frequency-modulation- and phase-distortion-softsynths for Linux?
Thanks in advance.

Ach, don’t go there ! That list is horribly out of relevance. Thanks for reminding me about it, I’ll take it offline asap.
Sean Bolton’s Hexter is wonderful. I use it with patches I developed for my TX802.

Thanks, Hexter looks very promising. I’ll try it within the next days.
Regarding the link list: I clicked two links. Both were dead. Then I left…
OK, what about phase distortion?
dbra, what distro are you using? Hexter lives, perhaps I can point you to a tarball online or even send one to you.
Fedora 17 + Planet CCRMA. I already installed it from the repos (v1.0.0), but I’m currently busy with other things…
I just learned that the DX7 also uses phase-modulation which is the same as phase-distortion. Forget about my last request…
@DavePhillips… not keeping your site up-to-date anymore… That was my bible… about 15 years ago… BTW - does anyone know if Hexter takes TX81z patches?? (Although I still have the hardware so it’s not that critical)…
cheers
Allan
I believe Phasex is also a phase-distortion synth. I’ve enjoyed using it.
