Anyone else having any of that? Its through a Focusrite card in ALSA mode. The UI still kind of responds but pressing play, record or measure latency seems to lock it up.

Can you run Ardour from the command line and see if there is any interesting / suspicious output?
Also, guessing based on the recent Fedora kernel – are you running under Pipewire? If so, you could try selecting the “JACK” back-end (assuming Pipewire’s jack emulation is available / enabled).
Yeah, its Pipewire. I had it again last night, and a reboot sorted it. I wonder if its something about some other process holding onto the sound card, and Ardour can’t grab it.
