linuxDSP AF2-10 Graphical EQ with FFT Released

The linuxDSP AF2-10 provides ten bands of EQ with a wealth of filter types, designed to recreate the natural sound of analogue designs, combined with the convenience of a graphical display and realtime FFT spectrum analyser.
The FFT is designed to be completely sample-synchronous with the audio processing enabling a single threaded low latency design which avoids deadlocks and priority inversions - both of which have been seen to cause problems with other designs (especially during offline export in some ardour / JACK sessions).
The display is zoomable up to 2X in realtime for fine adjustment, and the FFT is switchable pre / post processing, including variable slope compensation (switchable 3dB per octave).
Available as LV2 or JACK (VST versions to follow later), free demo at:

Very Cool, This looks like a must have!

Ahha a new teaching tool to teach my students what an EQ does and the various types of filters. Added to my ‘to buy’ list:)

@linuxdsp: Thanks for you continued development and support on linux!!

looks super cool! but does the EQ section of the plugin sound different than the BlackEQ?

Also, one cool addition would be to display the freq on the topm of the screen on mouse movement (like voxengo SPAN does: you just move the mouse pointer anywhere and the freq is displayed realtime)

The EQ section is built upon filters that the other plugins use, but some different (extra) filter types have been developed and added, so you get different Peak filters for example, such as asymmetric boost / cut (wide boost, narrow cut - or its inverse - where the filter Q is measured at different points e.g. -3dB below peak for boost and 3dB from unity for cut etc which behaves more like some passive EQ circuitry does). They’re described in more detail in the manual included with the free demo - as are many of the other technical details

…Available at an over 30% discounted introductory price throughout January 2014.

  • Flexible processing - Up to ten bands of fully configurable EQ, with a wide range of filter types
  • Analogue Filter Modelling algorithms. Replicate the natural response of analogue designs, without requiring high sample rates or CPU intensive upsampling.
  • LV2 and JACK ensure the AF2-10 is not tied to just one DAW host application and can run as a standalone application.
  • FFT Display Realtime spectrum analyser, monitors either before or after EQ processing.
  • Zoomable Display Zoom the display up to 2X in realtime for extra fine adjustment.
  • Free Demo. Test compatibility with your linux distribution before committing to a purchase.
  • Free Support. Even before you purchase the product. We want to ensure trouble free installation and use, and are happy to provide free support for all products, from the moment you download the demo.
  • Ardour3 / Ardour2 compatible.
