Launchpad Pro MK3 for clip launching - Works with Linux, fails on Windows

Hi.

my Launchpad Pro MK3 works fine with Ardour 8.2 on Ubuntu 23.10 with Jack, but fails as a control surface on Windows 11.

When opening the “Control Protocol Settings” dialog, there are different inputs

  • LaunchPad Pro Pads
  • LPProMK3 MIDI
  • MIDIIN2 (LPProMK3 MIDI)

and outputs

  • LPProMK3 MIDI
  • MIDIOUT2 (LPProMK3 MIDI)
  • MIDIOUT3 (LPProMK3 MIDI)

I tried different combinations, but it doesn’t work :slightly_frowning_face:

Thanks in advance for any tips how to get this running.

Please attach a screenshot showing the MIDI hardware port names (Window > MIDI Connections) on both platforms.

We have to find the right ports by name, and unfortunately the port names vary by platform (and, on Linux, even by different versions of ALSA).
