Labels for sections of recordings

It would be good if you could label certain sections of a recording either on the tracks or along the horizontal grid. I imagine cartoon bubbles like in Microsoft Word comments.

I don’t do music but if you were… you could label … bridge or chorus or drum part.

Then jumping to the section can be fast and easy graphically. However, after a while, we become sort of like the matrix guys and can understand the waveform displays.

Even so, it would be a nice features.

You can create named markers by clicking in the “Marker” “ruler” above all tracks. You can create named ranges by ctrl-click-drag in the “Ranges” “ruler” above all tracks.

Then you can jump around at will. See also the “Locations” tab in the left side of the editor window.
