Keeping markers bound to clock rather than beats and bars

I’m having a problem opposite to what has been discussed here.

I usually record live bands without the click. The BPM setting is left at the default 120 and I switch off the bar lines. My session contains multiple takes by the band, from which I make the final edit, placed at the end of the session. Sometimes when fixing timing issues, I realize that I could use the visual aid of bar lines to snap to, but in order to do that, I need to make a tempo map. The problem is that once I change the tempo value, all my markers and regions move.

I looked at the existing per-marker options, and didn’t find an option to bind markers to the clock (or to samples).

Would there be a way to keep markers and regions guided by the clock rather than musical time?

Markers (the general kind) are locked to the time domain of the session. So see Session > Properties > Misc > Time Domain

They will switch time domains if you change the session domain.

Sounds as if you should switch your default time domain to “Audio”.
