Is it possible to enable stacked mode layering by default?

I’m still not able to find a way to do this but I would say, knowing nothing about programming and the type of coding work you guys do, it doesn’t seem to be hard to include this option in preferences does it? So it would be cool to see it in next versions of Ardour.

This doesn’t answer your question, but the default keyboard shortcuts are:

Stacked layer display: Shift+}
Overlaid layer display: Shift+{

which at least is quicker than having to right click etc on the track header.

I wouldn’t have thought to look for this if not for your question, so thanks. Makes my life a little easier. :slight_smile:

I don’t know how to do this in the current situation but stacked layers would certainly be my choice as the default.
