Is Ardour running under Wine? I thought Ardour is 100% for Linux programmed…hmmm…?

No, the Linux version of Ardour on GNU/Linux does not run under Wine and does not directly interact with wine in any way.

You can however run the the Windows version of Ardour inside wine, an there was (until Ardour 5) a native wine-app of Ardour, to load Windows VST plugins. – These days it preferable to use a bridge (like e.g. GitHub - robbert-vdh/yabridge: A modern and transparent way to use Windows VST2, VST3 and CLAP plugins on Linux) to that end.
Hmmm…i deleted this directory…and after that Ardour didn’t run. I re-installed Ardour and now i have this directory new again.
Of course i installed the Linux version: Ardour-7.1.0-x86_64.run
And i don’t use yabridge or windows plugins.
The z:/
folder is a symlink to your filesystem’s root, its not related to Ardour in particular.
