I just started using Ardour a couple days ago and I’m trying to install this VST plugin. I only have a .ddl of the file and a windows .exe (unsure of how to unpack the .ddl), so I’m just trying to figure out which folder I need to put one of these files in? Really sorry if this question has already been asked!

If you download from https://asb2m10.github.io/dexed/ you will get the VST3/standalone version. VST3 will install to default location as per the Steinberg spec and Ardour 6.5 should pick it up with an automatic or manual plugin scan.
