hi, all,
trying to install Ardour 8.1 on mac os 10.11, the system refuses to install, as if ardour 8 was not compatible with the Mas os version. Whereas I found informations before install and pay for it that Ardour 8 could be installed on mac OS 10.11. Hope find solution !! Thanks for your responses. Bye JG
What precisely does “the system refuses to install” mean? What messages/dialogs do you see?
The current version of Ardour is 8.10. When you said 8.1, was that a typo?
there is a noway icon upon the installation icon, the same as when the app I’m trying to install isn’t compatible ; I didn’t try to install it anyway, not to corrupt the installed Ardour Version 6.9
a typo? I’m not sure to understand. the exact Ardour Version I downloaded is 8.10.0-x86_64.dmg
and to precise Mac os version 10.11.6
Unfortunately, our website had not been update to reflect the fact that you now need macOS High Sierra 10.13. That has now been done. Let me know if you’d like a refund.
Hi. Thank you for your response.
I’d like to get ardour for Mac os 10.11 version 7. X that was compatible. In order to update my 6.9 version. Could you send me a link to the ready to run Ardour 7.x version? I’d appreciate a lot.
Thank you for your help .

I regret that we do not make builds of older versions of Ardour available. If you decided you absolutely needed that, you’d have to build it yourself.
Hi, Paul,
ok to build.
which source I can use to build the app for mac 10.11?
Thank you.
JG
Building Ardour on macOS is challenging and unsupported.
You would clone the git repository and then use
git checkout 7.5
before doing anything else.
Hi,Paul,
in fact I wanted to update because of a bug . i’m going to stay at the previous version. Thank you for all!
