Ink after wav and mp3

Why does ardour add ink to my files and say it cannot open?

It’s not Ardour doing this, it’s Windows.

You’re looking at at the “Recent files” folder, where Windows keeps links (.lnk) aka shortcuts to the recently used files.

If you want to open the files in Ardour you have to navigate to where the actual files are.
If you’ve downloaded them from somewhere they’re probably in your Download folder, unless you’ve moved them somewhere else.
