iCON M+ issues w/ motorized faders don't work

updated to Ardour 8.10.0
and checked on whether flying faders on the iCON M+ works now

Control Surface device setup:
/Preferences/Control Surfaces & enabled Mackie check box
/also enabled Generic MIDI
/then clicked on
/Show Protocol Settings/Device Setup ->
/Selected iCON Platform M+
/Surface send via: Platform M v2.15 [28] (capture) MIDI 1
/Surface receives via: Platform M v2.15 [28] (playback) MIDI 1
/Button Click = true
/Backlight = true
/clicked on “recalibrate faders” (nothing happened)

imported test audio into track one
wrote some fader moves on that track w/ M+
when played back faders still do not respond to control info

Q: is this still a known issue with iCON controllers or am I not setting it up correctly?
any help is appreciated
KC

is there any development on tracking down why iCON surface controllers, at least the M+, don’t accept the MIDI info to fly faders?

I have an Icon V1-M in front of me. I’m supposed to be addressing the “extra” functions its offers, but have had issues with the faders being unusable. A firmware upgrade may help, but it can’t be done from Linux and I only recently got a macBook. Haven’t done it yet, but it is on my list for the start of 2025.

I’m stating the obvious here but I am able to record M+ fader data into Ardour
and Ardour does send pitchbend data etc back out
but it seems the M+ isn’t recognizing it
my wife has a Macbook which I used to set up the surface with so I’ll check for a firmware update and see if that resolves the issue.
In the meantime, happy holidays and keep up the amazing work

The Icon’s should be used as a mackie device …
