I went full psycho on ChatGPT

Robin, I am really mad at you

I tried to compile x42 meters for Windows (on Linux I did it).

ChatGPT drove me around for 5 hours, and I couldn’t get to compile the stuff.

I am livid.

And also thankful for such great plug-ins.

But I went round circles of hell trying to find glu and gl on Windows to compile.

Hell with it.

I’d better purchased the freaking license.

Have you tried msys2 with mesa to provide openGL or are you cross-compiling?

I guess you deserved that then

I tried cross compiling from Linux.
Then I switched to MSYS2 x64.

But no dice on both.

I deserved it. Masochist to the core.

I’m just wondering… do you calculate your license cost by factoring in the time to compile shit stuff.

Packages - MSYS2 Packages looks like it has everything.
Except perhaps the Makefile for meters.lv2 will need some tweaking to run directly on Windows.

Oh no, we ended up
renameing
robtk/glut_xxx
to robtk/glut_win32, or win.cpp
but nothing worked.
Also I compiled the whole fftw3 single precision, for apparently no reason at all. Other than, it’s single precision due to GUI responsivenss, which is the whole point of these plugins

No I don’t.

It mostly depends on time to test things with each (maintenance) update.

I actually ended up with a working plugin, but no GUI.

I can provide the whole chat session if you’d like. Not here, but in general.

Breaking news, human beings have a brain, too. And a heart too it seems, when it comes to being so impressively patient, hats off @x42.

Dude, it REALLY drove you mad :joy:
Side note: asking someone to go through the garbage output of weighted completion statistics based on your input is rude. Like really rude. If I were an admin, I would block your account and make sure your IP address is burnt forever.
But hey, you are human, so you might have something like compassion and empathy, and realize your wrong ways.
Just stop using the bloated autocomplete and spend those hours learning, working out and meditating, instead of frenetically prompting.
You will become a better human AND improve life for yourself.

I don’t think the op is a genuine human, the prose is too random. Must be some Ai output masquerading as a rant against Ai.

Apologies to everyone.
I’m venting these days.
This is not the correct forum for that.

I tend to agree. And HP is, IMO, a dreadful choice for desktop monitor speakers.

Cheers,

You got into that “Ah, now I really know what’s going on” - Loop??
