I hear my mic permanently

Hello,
I’m starting work with Ardour. I had problems to install my mic. Now the problem is that I hear it permanently. I have to mute it physically otherwise I hear all noise I make. How can I stop it ? I didn’t have the problem on first session).

Is it connected with master (output) ?

Hi,
the mic is usb ( I use ardour to write lyrics only). It goes in track that goes master. If I affect an entry to the track I hear the mic without being in rec mode.
I used other DAWs like cubase ,I had choice to have monitoring or not.

Ardour offered you that choice when you first used it, and continues to offer it to you in Edit > Preferences > Monitoring

Hi Paul,
It is exactly what I was looking for (I looked in audio setup). But talkback is not enabled and I hear all mic sounds.
Finally I put monitoring back to hardware and it seems to solve my problem.

I’ll tell you if it comes back.
