I cannot buy Ardour DAW Software because of PayPal

these things shouldn’t get in between us, actual people.
nabo nono is trying their best to be a positive force in a world full of systems to which we are unwillingly participant.
ardour, thankfully, is making their modest financial goals for a while now. and i am pretty confident if there was a less evil way to transfer money via the internet, Paul and Robin would probably offer it.
we’re all trying to do our best. we shouldn’t attack one another for our efforts. that would be the biggest shame of all.

Is pointing out some facts that could potentially relieve somebody of a misconception and possibly make them review the situation in a new light and hopefully lighten their burden an ‘attack’? I took no opposing side (unless common-sense is now a ‘side’), I acknowledged that the mentioned persons indeed were a problem but they were not directly a problem in the context of Ardour/Paypal…

Happy to see you here Glen. I dunno how many folks know who you are? Many a time when I struggle to install Mixbus on my Sparky Linux ( Debian Testing ) I pull out my AVL stick and spin up your great work and admire your contributions to MX Linux and compare Mixbus to my Ardour on Sparky. I settled on Ardour since its just what I need. I can buy Harrison Plugins for my Ardour. So I am okay with what I have got. Ardour is awesome. In school I have to use Pro Tools.

But back to Donations for F/OSS Projects I too dont have a Pay Pal account for more than one reason. Over the years I have had some serious issues using Pay Pal and cost me money. I lost friends over Pay Pal. Even my last business. My angst with Pay Pal is not political; its personal. Last night I wanted to Donate to Ardour since I use it. They do show a payment with Debit Card link. I had to abort after checking my balance. I have $50 for my Dog and I to survive with until next month and its mid-month.

But when my VA Disability hits end of month do plan on dropping a few Dollars into this wonderful Project. And if I did not have such a fondness for Sparky Linux Multimedia Edition ( comes with Ardour ) I certainly would be spinning your AVL and buy Harrison Plugins.

I do need to personally thank you for all your hard work helping bring Linux Audio to all of us. Linux for Audio has come a long ways to become what it is now where darn near everything is almost Plug and Play and it is because folks like you Crunch/Bang a lot of Code! I cant wait to see everyone in Audio using Linux. When it works, it is so much better!

Thanks for the kind words, encouragement is always appreciated! I’m fond of saying our hard-working Developers are the Chefs, I’m just one of many waiters…

Best to you and enjoy your music making endeavours! :slightly_smiling_face:
