I would like to upgrade to ardour4 on my Ubuntu Studio 14.04. Is there a brief HOWTO for doing this? Should ardour3 be uninstalled first? Or can they co-exist? Just looking for guidelines and any caveats. Thanks.
Ardour 4.x from ardour.org can be parallel installed with any other version of Ardour from ardour.org.
If you are installing or have installed Ardour from the Ubuntu repositories, the versions from ardour.org will NOT interfere with them.
Thanks Paul. What I have is ardour3 that was installed automatically with my Ubuntu Studio 14.04 installation. I think I shall give Ardour 4 a try.
