How to play both regions on track if overlapped

Sometimes I have two regions in same track and I need that the one in background is not silenced by the other.
How to do it?
In that case I would manage the crossfades of both regions as fade-in and fade-out.

The most usual case is if the left region has a final resonance I still need when the audio of next region already should start.

I would like to do this without create a new track - because both regions are recordings of the same instrument.

Right click > gain > opaque (unchecked)
(Iā€™m not in front of the computer, but more or less should be like that)
