I have a session with midi data I am importing and which contains data about several instruments (all on different channels). I could import the data as a single multi-channel midi file or as several one-channel one- instrument files.
I want to use the Kontakt plugin (which works quite all right under yabridge/wine) with the corresponding instruments. Is it more ram-economical to have one track and therefore one Kontakt instance with all the instruments loaded and properly assigned to the corresponding input data channels, or to have several tracks, each with one Kontakt instance and just one instrument loaded per instance? One plugin for many instruments or many plugins for one instrument (each)?
And most importantly, is there a simple way to check RAM usage as I experiment with different setups?
